Effective date: 24 September 2026 Last updated: 5 October 2026

Zirkl, Inc. ("Zirkl," "we," "us") operates myzirkl.com and the Zirkl application. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

We have tried to write this in plain language. Where we had a choice between a sentence a lawyer would prefer and one you could actually understand, we chose the second.

1. Who this policy covers

Two groups of people, and the difference matters.

Users. People who create a Zirkl account. Most of this policy is about you.

People in a user's network. If someone you know added you to their Zirkl, we hold information about you even though you never signed up. Section 9 is written for you, and you have rights here.

2. What we collect

From you, when you create an account

  • Your email address
  • A password, which we store only as a cryptographic hash and never in a form we or anyone else can read
  • Your name and any profile details you choose to add

From you, when you use Zirkl

  • Contacts. The people you add or import: names, employers, job titles, email addresses, phone numbers, profile links, locations, and any attributes you record about them.
  • Your notes. Anything you write about a person or an interaction. See section 6 for what we do and do not do with these.
  • Relationships and structure. How you organize people: groupings, connections, introductions you record, the rooms (we call them orbits) you create or attend, and the reminder tier you put each person on.
  • Your own profile. Where you have worked and studied and, if you add them, a clearance level and whether it is active, your skills, training and certifications, the regions you have worked in, and the languages you speak. Nobody else can see it. It is used to line you up against job postings at companies where you know someone (section 4).
  • Photos. Your own photo, if you add one, and the photos that come on contact cards from your phone, shrunk on your device before they are sent. They are shown only in your own Zirkl.
  • Imports. Records of what you imported and when, so an import can be undone.
  • Where a fact came from. For each fact about a person, whether you supplied it or Zirkl worked it out (for example, a school read out of a job title). Facts Zirkl worked out are shown to you as such.
  • Reaching someone. When you tap a way to reach someone, Zirkl opens that app on your device. It never sees, sends or keeps what you write. If you tell Zirkl you reached them, it keeps the date and which app, and nothing else. Zirkl counts how many times people tap these buttons each week, without who or what.

Automatically

  • Standard technical data: internet protocol (IP) address, browser type, device type, timestamps, and pages accessed.
  • Basic usage information about which features are used, in aggregate.

We do not use advertising trackers, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics that build profiles across other websites.

3. How importing works, and what leaves your device

This is a design choice we consider part of the product rather than a detail.

When you import a data archive, such as the connections export you download from LinkedIn:

  • The file is read in your browser, on your own device. It is never uploaded to us.
  • We have no route that accepts an archive file. There is nowhere on our servers to put one.
  • Only the individual contact records you review and confirm are sent to us, and only when you choose to complete the import.
  • You can undo an import for seven days afterward.

The same is true of a contacts file from your phone and of a spreadsheet, such as a class roster in Excel or CSV. A photo on a phone contact card comes with that person only, shrunk on your device first. A roster you add to an event you recorded goes onto that event only, not into your contacts, until you add someone from it yourself.

We say this here because it is the reason we can make the commitments in section 9 at all.

Today, we do not obtain information about the people in your network from any outside source. If that ever changes, this policy will say so first, it will name the source, and it will be your choice, per import, whether to use it.

4. Why we use your information

  • To provide the service: to show you your network, group it, search it, answer your questions about it, and keep your notes and reminders.
  • To operate and secure the service: authentication, preventing abuse, rate limiting, diagnosing failures.
  • To communicate with you about your account, including confirming your email address and letting you reset your password.
  • To comply with law.

When you ask Zirkl a question about your network (the "What do you need?" box), a small set of facts about the people who might answer it, such as names, employers, titles and the categories you have grouped them by, is sent to an artificial intelligence model provider (section 7) to rank the answer. Your notes, and the email addresses and phone numbers of the people in your network, are never sent to a model. The provider does not use what is sent to train its models and does not keep it beyond what is needed to answer.

When you upload a resume or photograph a business card, the text of the resume or the photograph is sent to our model provider to read it. What it reads is shown to you, and nothing is saved until you confirm it. We do not keep the file or the photograph.

When you check how you line up against a job posting, your own confirmed profile (where you have worked and studied, your skills, clearance level, certifications, regions and languages) and the text of that public posting are sent to our model provider to compare them. Nothing about the people in your network is sent. The provider does not use what is sent to train its models and does not keep it beyond what is needed to answer.

To show which companies in your network, or at an event you recorded, are hiring, Zirkl requests those companies' public job listings from the job board services they publish them on, and to find where a company posts, it reads a few public pages of that company's own website, the way a person would, following the site's robots.txt. The domain comes from the work email addresses of people you know there, never from a government or military address. Those services and websites learn only that someone requested a company's public pages, not who, and not anything about you or your network. What a company's website says is kept once for everyone, with nothing about who asked.

To show a company's or school's logo, Zirkl reads that organization's own public website for the icon it publishes for phones and browsers, following the site's robots.txt, and keeps one copy for everyone. Government and military offices are read the same way, from their own public sites. The website comes from the work email addresses of people you know there (never a government or military address), a public list of universities, a list of well-known employers and government offices, or a website you set yourself. Different spellings of one name, like U.S. Army and United States Army, share one logo. The site learns only that someone requested its icon, not who, and not anything about you or your network.

We rely on your agreement to our terms, our legitimate interest in running and securing the service, and legal obligations where they apply.

5. What we do not do

Stated plainly, because these are the questions people actually have.

  • We do not sell your information. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone, and not under any definition of "sell."
  • We do not show you advertising, and we do not share your data with advertisers.
  • We do not use your contacts or your notes to train artificial intelligence models, ours or anyone else's, and we do not allow our providers to.
  • We do not make your network public or browsable. There is no directory of Zirkl users' contacts and there is no way for another user to search through the people you know.
  • We do not read your notes except where strictly necessary to operate the service (for example, a database administrator restoring a backup) or where we are legally compelled.

6. Your notes are yours alone

Notes you write about a person are visible only to you. They are not shown to the person you wrote them about, not included in any introduction you make, not visible in a shared event, not sent to any model, and not included in any export another person can see.

This is enforced in the software and tested, not merely promised in this document.

7. Who we share information with

We share information with a small number of service providers who help us run Zirkl. They may only use it to provide services to us.

ProviderPurposeLocation
Vercel Inc.Application hostingUnited States
Neon Inc.Database hostingUnited States
Resend, Inc.Sending account emails (confirmation, password reset)United States
Anthropic, PBCReading resumes and cards you upload, answering your questions about your network, and checking how you line up against a job posting (section 4)United States

We will also disclose information if we are legally required to, or where it is necessary to protect the rights or safety of a person.

If Zirkl is acquired or merges with another company, information may transfer as part of that transaction. If that happens, we will tell you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

8. How long we keep things

  • Your account data: until you delete your account.
  • When you delete your account: your contacts, notes, and all associated records are deleted from our live systems. Backups are overwritten on a rolling cycle and your data is removed from them within 30 days.
  • Imports: reversible for seven days, after which the undo record is removed but your contacts remain.
  • Job fit checks: kept with your account so a role you opened before opens instantly, and replaced when you change your profile or the posting changes. Deleted with your account.
  • Technical logs: up to 30 days.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. It is not a request. It happens. You can also delete everyone in your network while keeping the account, from the same place.

9. If you are not a Zirkl user

Someone you know may have added you to their private Zirkl, most likely from their own address book or their own professional network export.

Here is what is true:

  • Your information is visible only to that person. It is not public, not searchable by other Zirkl users, and not shared with anyone else.
  • We hold it on their behalf. They decide what is recorded about you, in the same way they would if they wrote it in a notebook or saved you in their phone.
  • We do not contact you because you are in someone's Zirkl. We will not email you, and we do not use your information to recruit you to the service.

If you want to be removed, email hello@myzirkl.com. Tell us the email address, phone number, or full name we should look for. We will search, remove what we find, and confirm when it is done. We do not require you to create an account to make this request and we will not charge you for it.

We may be unable to identify you if you give us information we do not hold. We may need to ask for enough detail to be confident we are removing the right person's records, and we will not use anything you send us for any other purpose.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Know what information we hold about you
  • Get a copy of it in a portable format
  • Correct information that is wrong
  • Delete your information
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights

If you are a user, most of these are available directly in the product: you can see, edit, export, and delete your data without asking us.

If you are not a user, see section 9.

To make a request, email hello@myzirkl.com. We will respond within the time the applicable law requires, and in any case within 45 days.

California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined, and we do not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

11. Where your information is held

Zirkl is operated from the United States and offered to people in the United States. Your information is stored on servers in the United States. If you use Zirkl from elsewhere, your information is transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws differ from those where you live. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

12. Security

We take this seriously and we will not overstate it.

  • Passwords are stored only as bcrypt hashes.
  • All traffic is encrypted in transit.
  • The application is covered by an automated suite of authorization and attack tests that runs on every change, verifying that one account cannot reach another's data by any route.
  • Access to production systems is limited to those who need it.

No system is perfectly secure. If we ever learn of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law and without unreasonable delay.

13. Age

Zirkl is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and if we learn we have, we will delete it.

14. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that materially affects how we handle your information, we will notify you by email or in the product before the change takes effect. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.

Terms

Effective date: 24 September 2026 Last updated: 24 September 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Zirkl, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("Zirkl," "we," "us"). They govern your use of myzirkl.com and the Zirkl application (together, the "Service").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who can use Zirkl

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. If you are using Zirkl on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and "you" means both you and it.

Right now, accounts are by invitation. An invitation is personal to you; do not pass the code on without asking us.

2. This is early software

Zirkl is in active development. We will be direct about what that means:

  • Features will change, and some will be removed.
  • The Service may be unavailable, sometimes without notice.
  • Bugs exist. Some of them we do not know about yet.
  • You should not rely on Zirkl as the only copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. Export your data periodically. Settings has an export for exactly this reason.

We are telling you this rather than burying it, because at this stage it is true.

3. Your account

You are responsible for your account and for keeping your password secure. Tell us promptly at hello@myzirkl.com if you believe someone else has accessed your account.

One person per account. Do not share credentials.

4. Your data, and your responsibility for it

Your data belongs to you. We claim no ownership of the contacts, notes, attributes, or anything else you put into Zirkl.

You give us only the permission we need to run the Service for you: to store, process, back up, and display your data to you, to send a small set of facts about your contacts to a model provider when you ask Zirkl a question (described in the Privacy Policy), and to transmit your data as you direct (for example, when you export it). This permission ends when you delete the data or your account. We do not use your data to train artificial intelligence models, and we do not use it to build any product other than your own Zirkl.

And here is the part that matters most.

Much of what you put into Zirkl is information about other people. When you do that, you are the one deciding what is recorded about them, and you are responsible for having the right to do it.

By using the Service you confirm that:

  • You obtained the contact information you import lawfully, from your own records, your own address book, or your own data export from a service you use.
  • You are not uploading data you took from an employer, a client, or any other party in breach of a duty you owe them.
  • You are not uploading data you scraped, purchased from a data broker, or obtained without permission.
  • You will handle what you record about other people responsibly, and you will comply with the laws that apply to you when you do.

If someone asks you to remove them from your Zirkl, remove them.

We provide the tools. What you choose to put in them is on you.

5. What you may not do

Do not:

  • Use Zirkl for anything illegal, or to harass, stalk, threaten, or harm anyone
  • Upload data obtained by scraping, by purchase from a data broker, or in breach of anyone's rights or any agreement you are party to
  • Attempt to access another user's account or data
  • Probe, scan, or test the security of the Service without our written permission, or interfere with its operation
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except where law says you may despite this restriction
  • Use automated means to access the Service other than as we permit
  • Resell, sublicense, or provide the Service to third parties as your own
  • Use the Service to build a competing product, or to assemble a database of people for sale or distribution

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why.

6. Our intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, interface, and the Zirkl name and marks, belongs to us. These terms give you permission to use the Service and nothing else. You may not use our name or marks without our written permission.

7. Feedback

If you send us ideas, suggestions, or feedback, we may use them freely and without obligation or payment to you. We are not asking you to send us confidential information, and you should not.

8. Privacy

Our handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy above on this page, which is part of these terms.

9. Availability

We do not promise any particular uptime. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service. If we discontinue the Service entirely, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export your data before we do.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, and any warranty arising out of course of dealing or usage of trade.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that any data will be preserved without loss.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity, arising out of or relating to these terms or the Service, whether or not we were advised such damages were possible.

Our total liability to you for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or (b) one hundred United States dollars ($100).

These limits apply regardless of the legal theory and even if a limited remedy fails of its essential purpose. They do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Indemnification

You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Zirkl, Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claim, demand, loss, or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Data you upload or record, including any claim that you lacked the right to collect, hold, or use information about another person
  • Your breach of these terms or of any law

We will notify you of any such claim and you will control its defense, except that you may not settle any claim in a way that imposes an obligation on us without our written consent.

13. Termination

You may stop using Zirkl and delete your account at any time from Settings.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, if your use creates legal risk for us or another user, or if we discontinue the Service.

On termination, your right to use the Service ends. Sections 4 (your responsibility for data), 6, 7, 10, 11, 12, 14, and 15 survive.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and both of us consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

15. Everything else

Changes. We may update these terms. If a change is material, we will notify you by email or in the product before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new terms. If you do not, delete your account.

Entire agreement. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about the Service and replace anything said before.

Severability. If a provision is held unenforceable, the rest stays in force.

No waiver. If we do not enforce a provision, that is not a waiver of it.

Assignment. You may not assign these terms. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Force majeure. Neither party is liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
